Michael Golden
Before there were the Jim Lees, J. Scott Campbells, Michael Turners, Eazy-Es, Ice Cubes and D.O.C.s... there was Michael Golden. He is the artist that other artists emulate, and in some cases, even collect. As a whiz-kid rising star in the 1970s, his special talent and aptitude was quickly lauded by his older peers. Larry Hama once noted that while other artists used rulers and compasses, Michael Golden could draw a perfectly straight line across the Bristol board, and make the picture-perfect flawless circle entirely unaided. It is even rumored that Neal Adams once said Michael Golden was the only artist he ever met who might just be better than himself. Michael Golden's bodacious style of big-jawed heroes and curvy heroines first gained significant attention through his work on Micronauts. He continued his rise to prominence with illustration for ROM, Marvel Fanfare, Avengers Annual, X-Men, The Nam, G.I. Joe Yearbook and many other titles. He also lent his pencils to his collaboration with Larry Hama on Bucky O'Hare. His more recent comic books include Nightwing and Punisher. Not one to grandstand, Michael Golden rarely makes public appearances, and prefers the privacy of not being in the public eye.Would you like to sell, buy or auction Michael Golden original comic book artwork?
