George Tuska
A very influential illustrator whose career spanned the Golden, Silver, Bronze and Modern Ages, George Tuska was a published comic artist even before World War II. After graduating from the National School of Art, Tuska became assistant to the artist John Terry on "Scorchy Smith", and also joined Jerry Iger and Will Eisner's studio. Among his many credits are Jungle, Wings, Mystery Men, Planet Wonderworld, Captain Marvel, Golden Arrow, Uncle Sam, El Carim and Crime Does Not Pay. Tuska also created the character Hercule for Quality Comics. At Marvel in the 1960s, Tuska worked on many titles including Sub-Mariner, X-Men, Ghost Rider, Daredevil, Iron Man. At DC, he worked on Superman, Superboy and Challengers of the Unknown. After, he was an ongoing contributor to the Superman daily newspaper strip until 1993.Source: www.lambiek.net
