Erik Larsen

A mild-mannered and generally all around nice guy, this Minnesotan's first published comic work was the hilarious comic and character of his own creation, Megaton (Man). Larsen went on to do work for Marvel, but really exploded onto the scene with his pencils for both series Amazing Spider-Man and Spider-Man. In 1992, he was one of the "Original 7" who departed the Big Two to found Image Comics (with Jim Lee, Todd McFarlane, Rob Leifeld, Jim Valentino, & Whilce Portacio). Of those creators and their respective flagship series, Larsen was the only one to successfully self-manage his own deadlines without having to delegate penciling duties or fold his series. His creation and run on the Savage Dragon has since surpassed the 100 issue mark, and continues to capture the imaginations of readers and fans. In 2004, Larsen assumed the role of Editor in Chief at Image Comics.
